Took Caroline with me to watch the Inauguration in the Wendy Williamson at UAA on Tuesday. What a blast. It was great to have her with me to celebrate the event. THANK GOD is all I can say.She was so excited by her "Yes We Did!!" t-shirt that she wore it all day to school, insisted on putting it back on after evening bath, and slept in it. I bribed her this morning to take it off for the field trip. She liked the Natural History Museum; "It's going to be a school one day. We saw WOOVES. The white one was named George but I don't remember what color the other one was." That was about the extent of my report. It was great fun but things are so hard to remember once you've moved on. That was then, this is now, I can relate kid.
We spent Monday together and celebrated our own civil rights. I probably should've done something with her besides just enjoy the hell out of her but I had planned on working until given the choice between school or me, she choose me! Who knew? At that point what choice did I have? I have the best job in the world.
Tonight, when handed a plate containing -of all horrible things -steamed zucchini she informed us that she preferred her cucumbers fresh, not warmed. Nah, nah, no thanks momma, I'll pass. I like them crisp and fresh, maybe even pickled and cold but not warm. Not me. No thanks.
